“Don’t listen to the drips”

26th September 2007

Miss Jameson occupies a Regency style apartment in Eastbourne and she came home from work only to find that the unoccupied flat above had suffered a burst pipe and water was flooding through the ceilings into her kitchen, bathroom and living room.

Miss Jameson contacted her insurance company who advised her to “find a plumber in the Yellow Pages”. Fortunately she contacted Flood Alert who arranged for an emergency plumber to attend within the hour. A locksmith arrived to gain access to the flat above, the leak was repaired and Flood Alert mobilised a team of specialists to take care of the ensuing clean up operation. Air moving equipment was quickly installed to minimise the deterioration of an irreplacable ornamental frieze that had been saturated.

An inventory of damaged contents had been made and a schedule of repairs had been prepared before the insurers representative called. A substantial interim payment was negotiated with insurers and Miss J was able rest safe in the knowledge that behind the scenes everything was being taken care of. Nine weeks later, a new fitted kitchen complete with appliances, new fully tiled bathroom and new bedroom suite were the only evidence that anything had happened.

“Without the help of Flood Alert I don’t know what I would have done. They took care of literally everything. All the paperwork, the massive clear up, dealing with the insurance company, even finding a temporary home for my 3 cats!”
